Speech and Language Clinic

The WWU Speech and Language Clinic serves individuals across the gender spectrum who wish to modify their communication to be more in alignment with their gender identity.  The goals of voice and communication training are highly individualized and based on client preferences. Therapy often involves developing healthy voice practices to effectively and sustainably modify vocal pitch, intensity, resonance, and quality. Therapy also addresses other aspects of communication such as intonation, rate, rhythm, and nonverbal communication patterns to support self-expression that feels authentic and aligns with the client’s sense of self.  Attention is also given to social communication and self-advocacy through communication. Services are provided on a no-fee basis.

All new evaluations are on hold until summer or fall.
